My Motivation for The Real World…AKA, How Bad Do I Want It?

ree

Thinking on my upcoming class on what ACIM terms “The Real World”.  I’ve been thinking deeply about what the course has to say about what “ the real world” is, and how it’s attained.

I wondered what would be a good angle of approach to the topic I might take.

Today I had a big, bright lightbulb go on.

After hearing this week one the most depressing things I’ve heard in a long time,

And I’ve heard a lot of depressing things happening in the world,   I felt some deep hopelessness about our world.

That really frightened me, as normally I’m a very hopeful person.

I heard it on a podcast of one of my favorite social commentators and peace activists, who was reading different news reports from countries all over the world,

And how they’re all actively preparing for major conflicts of some kind.

I’m tough, but that really affected me.

And just today,

As I listened to a story about some desperate, ignorant and old ones,

I had a new realization of the value of The Real World.

The real world is the loving world.

Their desperation for the real world was a mirror of my own desperation for it.

For without the perception of the loving world,

We are all desperate……..

Desperate for a safe and sane place to be at home with our loved ones.

The attainment of the real world is our only hope here,

For experiencing safety, joy and love,

Are now possible,

even here.

In a instant of light

I saw the desperation of my own need

for a safe and loving world,

And I felt afraid.

But with the sight

of my own desperate need for peace,

Came too, a willingness to do whatever

the Holy Spirit is saying is the only way

 to attain it here.

The Holy Spirit says The real world begins with investing in it,

By awakening Gods children to how perfectly they are loved by God

Every one of them.

This is what I want to communicate at this workshop about The Real World,

And how to attain it.

It’s all a matter of motivation,

AKA, how bad do you want it?
